About FAM

The Free Alabama Movement Inc. (FAM) is a community based  501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on advocacy, reentry support and assisting individuals and families impacted by incarceration. FAM  is grounded in lives experiences and works to support guidance, resources, and a consider point of contact for those navigating complex systems.

At its core, the mission for Free Alabama Movement is and forever will be FREEDOM.

Free Alabama Movement formed in 2013 inside Alabama prisons, led by incarcerated organizers who refused to be silent. Through work strikes and human rights campaigns, we confront state violence, prison slavery, and demand decarceration, fair wages, and dignity.
